Östersunds FK Esports will represent eAllsvenskan

Svensk Elitfotboll together with Dream today announces the establishment of “eAllsvenskan”, the swedish top professional esports league in FIFA by EA-Games – to kickoff during the first weekend in mars 2019.

Twelve elite football clubs will participate in the premier season of the league, which also will broadcasted on Discoverys streamingplatform “Dplay”. “eAllsvenskan” will be Swedens largest professional FIFA-competition were a majority of clubs from regular “Allsvenskan” and some from “Superettan” together will compete for the title and a global ranking to qualify for FIFA eWorld Cup.

– It’s about time to take eSports seriously and recognize the potential to strenghten our brand globally, even within this field. This opportunity comes served at a right time and i am pleased that som many of the major football clubs was able to join in. Östersunds FK has aquired two professional FIFA players from Sweden.

First out is Jakob Fogelgren from Vänersborg, with an amazing merit list behind his back and an eager to compete in the tournament. Next up is Filiph Sköld from Malmö who will mainly hava a role as Head Coach of “Team FIFA”.

– We have been working really hard to ensure Östersunds FK Esports will be able to compete in a high level. We are really glad that we managed to aquire both Jakob and Filiph. This falls well in line within our strategy for the esports programme – also a strategy that has proven to be legit, as we also have our League of Legends team being ranked as number one in SEL. The clubs among Östersunds FK that will participate in the premier of eAllsvenskan is: AIK, Djurgårdens IF, Hammarby IF, Örebro SK, GIF Sundsvall, Örgryte IS, BK Häcken, Helsingborgs IF, Jönköpings Södra IF, Malmö FF and AFC Eskilstuna.

All clubs will participate with at least two professional FIFA-players in the upcoming eleven league matches and in playoff. The final will be played the 25 may.

– We have a unique opportunity to do soming really good out of this and to tie together esports and classic football once and for all. This will attract a new audience and benefit everyone in the end.

eAllsvenskan will be widely noticed by media. All the games will be broadcasted on Dplay.
